Our CompanyHaven HospiceOverviewThe Patient Services Technician is responsible for the delivery, set-up, maintenance, and repair of durable medical equipment used in the home. This position instructs patients and/or caregivers on use, care, and basic maintenance of the equipment when appropriate. They also assist with cleaning equipment, equipment repairs, medical gas distribution and maintaining inventory. The Patient Services Technician completes accurate driver logs, delivery sheets and other paperwork and is responsible for properly maintaining assigned delivery vehicle. This position works assigned on-call shifts.Responsibilities* Delivers and set-ups equipment in a safe and accurate manner in patient homes or other settings, providing instruction on use and care of equipment as required.* Reviews delivery tickets and orders prior to delivery to ensure accurate equipment and supplies.* Provides pick up service of various donated items from patient homes for distribution to the Hospice Attics and other locations.* Maintains and submits delivery logs, oxygen manifests, delivery tickets and other related paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.* Adheres to Infection Control and Safety guidelines (including Universal Precautions).* Cleans, maintains, repairs and tracks equipment according to Agency guidelines and standards.* Information regarding malfunctioning equipment, defective or inadequate supplies is reported to appropriate individuals and documented per Agency policy.* Participates in on-call rotation as assigned and provides accurate documentation.* Paperwork for productivity and payroll is completed in a timely and accurately.* Professionally explains and demonstrates equipment use and safety to patients/caregivers.* Refers any patient/customer concerns to appropriate personnel immediately.* Follows all safety policies and procedures concerning equipment and supplies.* Maintains delivery vehicle in a clean and safe condition and promptly reports any problems to management.* Participates in ongoing training and education to new or updated products, equipment and procedures and provide documentation of training for employee files.* Assists in the tracking and distribution of medical gas cylinders as required.* Assists in inventory, organization, and cleaning of the equipment.* Exhibits critical thinking abilities and applies them for continuous improvement of services, with HH. Demonstrates ability to think creatively, identify and make recommendations to the Warehouse Supervisor.* Consistently demonstrates initiative and skills in planning and organizing work. Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload and ensures that all projects are completed by deadlines.* Uses own knowledge and experience base and other resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems.Qualifications* High School diploma or GED equivalent required.* Knowledge of Home Medical Equipment is preferred.* Must have basic mechanical skills.* Must maintain a current Driver's License and a safe driving record.* Percentage of travel: 25-75%About our Line of BusinessAt Haven, our primary ambition is to bring high-quality care to the warmest and most serene environment possible: home.
