Overview

The Deputy CIO for the Clinical Enterprise holds responsibility for strategizing, harmonizing, delivering, and sustaining cutting-edge IT solutions across all hospitals, faculty practices, community practices, and related business functions. This includes overseeing revenue cycle, clinical applications, and business applications that underpin patient care, provider workflows, and operational efficacy. By partnering with clinicians, administrators, and community stakeholders, this leader cultivates trust and champions innovation, ensuring technology not only meets but exceeds the evolving needs of patients, providers, and the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years in healthcare IT leadership roles.
  • Minimum 7 years of people/organizational management experience, including oversight of large teams, multi-hospital systems, or enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading IT operations and strategy across multiple hospitals and clinical practices, ensuring alignment across diverse care settings.

Technical and Leadership Expertise:

  • Deep expertise in healthcare information technology, clinical applications, revenue cycle systems, and business applications within a large healthcare enterprise.
  • Strong technology acumen, including an understanding of emerging healthcare IT trends, infrastructure, interoperability, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise IT strategies that enhance patient care, provider workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with healthcare data security, privacy, and risk management requirements.

Strategic and Operational Acumen:

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional teams and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in aligning IT investments with organizational goals to drive innovation, efficiency, and clinical excellence across a multi-hospital, multi-practice environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar IT budgets, identifying opportunities for cost optimization, and ensuring efficient allocation of IT resources without compromising patient care or operational effectiveness.

Collaboration and Influence:

  • Experience engaging with executive leadership, clinical stakeholders, and external partners to advance digital transformation efforts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to C-suite executives, board members, and external regulatory agencies.
  • A track record of fostering collaborative, transparent, and high-performance cultures across diverse teams.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required):

  • Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'
