Laurel Plant - Environmental, Safety, and Health Affairs (ESHA) Manager

Position Overview: The ESHA Manager is responsible for ensuring environmental, safety, health, and security compliance across the site. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs, regulatory training, emergency preparedness, and incident investigations. The manager collaborates across functions to promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage all ESHA systems and training to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws (OSHA, EPA, FDEP, etc.).
  2. Serve as Chair of the Safety Steering Committee, ensuring proper emergency preparedness and incident response.
  3. Monitor, audit, and report on site safety and environmental compliance; lead corrective action plans and participate in PHA reviews.
  4. Collaborate with leadership on staff development, performance reviews, and fostering team morale.
  5. Act as Facility Security Officer and co-chair the Pollution Prevention Team; participate in local environmental councils and community outreach.

Qualifications - Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental, safety, or occupational health, including 1+ year of leadership.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience and familiarity with highly hazardous chemicals.

Desired Strengths:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and lead cross-functional safety initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating safety training, PHAs, and compliance audits.
