Job Description

The position is based at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), FL, supporting the 96th Test Wing (96TW), which conducts DT&E across the system lifecycle for various customers. The ISSM will provide technical support as a System Administrator for the 96 Range Control Squadron (96 RNCS) High Performance Computing team.

Essential Functions:

  1. Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified Information Systems (IS) and data using Air Force-approved network engineering, information security standards, and industry best practices.
  2. Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DOD JSIG guidelines for assigned systems.
  3. Assess, write, manage, and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) on standalone systems.
  4. Interpret and integrate DoD / Air Force policies, instructions, directives, manuals, and technical orders into security requirements and training programs.
  5. Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of security policies, procedures, and practices according to the System Security Plan, ST&E, and risk management frameworks.
  6. Proficient in using the Enterprise Mission Assurance System (eMASS).
  7. Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies for reliable, secure operation and growth of hardware and software infrastructure.
  8. Experience with JSIG Continuous Monitoring, including logs, account management, vulnerability scans, and security audits on SAP systems.
  9. Implement cybersecurity safeguards, including updating STIGs, using SCAP, patching systems, and familiarity with ACAS or Nessus for vulnerability scanning.
  10. Ensure all IAOs, network administrators, and AIS personnel receive necessary technical and security training.
  11. Develop, review, and prioritize system documentation such as SSPs, SCTMs, test procedures, and risk assessments.
  12. Manage deadlines for security requirements compliance.
  13. Provide cybersecurity support for test area systems, including standalone and networked systems.
  14. Evaluate new technologies for organizational deployment.
  15. Support application development, network implementation, systems integration, and security controls.
  16. Assist in producing and maintaining SOPs, SSPs, and ATO documentation.
  17. Perform security scans to ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and patch levels.
  18. Collect and preserve IS audit logs per SSP and government requirements.
  19. Manage media control, including documentation and accountability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant IT field with 10+ years of experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain an IA Professional certification, compliant with DoD 8570.01-M at IAM Level III.
  • Basic understanding of Linux OS environments.
  • Knowledge of Air Force Test Center procedures and DoD regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • US Citizenship required.

Security Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance within the last 6 years, with eligibility to upgrade to Top Secret.
