Description:

TrueNet Communications is seeking an Access Engineer to join our team in Gainesville, FL. The working schedule is a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday.This is a Hybrid position requiring the candidate to sit on site/in office 1-2 days a week & work remote the other days.Responsible for engineering and documenting telecommunication transmission systems to deliver voice, video, data, and wireless services across regional and national converged networks. In charge of designing, planning, and implementing projects focused at delivering services ranging from DS-0 through DWDM and including Native Ethernet and IP Services delivered over fiber optical and coaxial cable lines. Accountable for maintaining a customer service order queue and completing tasks within SLAs.Major Tasks Develops and maintains detailed network designs and documentation including Method and Procedure and Engineering SpecificationsPrepares cost estimates to deliver DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet, and IP services across networkProvides engineering and deployment plans for new circuit deploymentsProvides equipment and circuit engineering to industry standardsPrepares the technical specifications, development, and integration of peripheral systems involving multiple telecommunications technologies supporting voice, video, data and other informationAssists in evaluating and selecting new network equipment and emerging technologies while ensuring the selected technology supports business plans and positions the network for future growth in capacity, features, capability, and reliabilityRecommends hardware and software upgrades in order to support customer service ordersAnalyzes network vulnerabilities and develops plan of action to minimize risksPerforms analysis and reporting of operational measurement data from traffic sensitive network elements to identify potential, future network-capacity needsMaintains network asset and circuit inventory databasesProduces weekly reportsPerforms other duties as requiredQualifications Required 3+ years of experience in related field (i.e. Engineering, Technical Operations)Proven ability to meet deadlines/SLAsRequires working knowledge of transmission, switching, powering, grounding, mechanical, and cablingRequires working knowledge and experience with Granite and MintDemonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skillsExcellent collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organizationDemonstrated knowledge of various manufacturers' telecommunications equipmentDemonstrated knowledge of backbone and loop architectures and technologiesBS/BA degree in related discipline or similar technical degreeCertifications: NRSII / CCENT / JNCIAPreferred CompTIA Security+Database management experience: GraniteCertifications: CCNAMEF Carrier Ethernet Certification Program certifiedAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age or veteran status.TrueNet is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Individuals with Disabilities and Protected Veterans.We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
