Join Our Team as a Blood Collection Specialist!

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to perform phlebotomy and blood collection procedures in compliance with our organization's policies, FDA regulations, and AABB standards. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring the safety and comfort of donors while making a significant impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather medical histories and vital signs from donors and patients.
• Perform safe and effective phlebotomy to collect whole blood and/or blood components.
• Provide exceptional customer service and professionalism to all donors.
• Assist in recruiting potential apheresis and bone marrow donors.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• No specific certifications or licenses required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read and follow safety rules and operating procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently.
• Team-oriented with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves the physical demand of lifting, carrying, and pushing moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities. Tasks include walking, standing, and manual dexterity for operating phlebotomy equipment.

Work Environment:

Work conditions may involve exposure to outdoor elements and potential hazards like blood-borne pathogens; therefore, proper safety precautions must be observed. You will work in close quarters, especially on mobile units. The noise level is generally moderate.
