Coordinates, assigns, and reviews skilled and semi-skilled workers engaged in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, general maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of County buildings, facilities, and other structures. Assigns jobs to a small crew of trades workers and helpers; inspects daily job progress; meets with contractors; assists supervisors in scheduling/preparing for expected projects. Prepares statements of work for service and repair contracts; monitors compliance. Performs set-up, layout, and design of on-site construction; estimates materials, supplies, and staff hours; completes purchasing requisitions; orders materials and coordinates services with vendors to ensure they are properly rendered. This position works closely with the regions and vendors to process payment of materials and services provided. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Maintenance Supervisor and is reviewed upon completion for conformance with job specifications and all applicable codes.
